critical computer systems, network and Internet services to multiple clients in
Government, Real Estate, Financial, Healthcare, Telecommunications and the Managed
Storage markets.

The Data Center and Network Operations Technician is
responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure and platforms that
support SecureData 365 business customer systems. Installs, configures, implements,
supports, and maintains, hardware and software components, which may include
participating on teams and projects to maintain and enhance assigned platforms.
Works with others to maintain environment changes to the systems, and works to
ensure that the availability of the supported environment meets negotiated
service level agreements. Responsibilities may include working with others to
develop and maintain utility software, diagnostic software, network components
and interfaces, software tools, system monitoring tools, and management
reporting. Responsibilities may also include supporting and maintaining file
maintenance and backup routines, network devices, and servers.
Applies basic skills and knowledge of network and data
center systems. Becoming
proficient with the fundamental concepts of network devices and operating
systems, and recommends solutions to problems that are basic in complexity and
scope. Follows standard processes and procedures, and analyzes
situations and/or information from which answers can be readily obtained. Seeks
input on more complex recommendations, issues, and/or new network devices and
operating systems from more experienced staff members.
The main goal being to support
hardware and software installations, maintenance, upgrades, and network
connectivity for SecureData 365’s business clients. It will involve reviewing documentation for the operation and
installation of hardware related equipment and respond to calls/trouble tickets
from clients for hardware, software, network assistance and problem resolution.
Maintenance and troubleshooting a wide range of client problems are part of the
responsibilities as is repairing servers and peripheral equipment.
Accountability for the implementation of network devices, systems and software
upgrades of OS and configuration changes for users in addition to the
installation and repair all cables, connections and cross-connects to data
center network and equipment included in job duties. You will maintain
knowledge of building infrastructure (UPS, generators, HVAC, electrical
components, security, and surveillance systems, and other facilities
maintenance), front/backend connectivity and support client on-site needs
· Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in network and facilities systems. Areas include: Network, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring and Control.
· Tracking and trending operational characteristics
· Monitor assigned core infrastructure and network
· Answer ticket requests for remote hands tasks
· Rack servers and network equipment
· Make, test, and run copper, fiber, coax, cables
· Create and maintain documentation and Labeling
· Ensure that all cabling follows group standards such as NEC, BICSI, OSHA, TIA/EIA, ISO
· Ensure that all systems placement follows space allocation plans
· Perform other scheduled work, such as maintenance window support and tape rotation for offsite storage
· Maintain site facilities needs according to health and safety requirements
· Work according to scheduled shift
· Perform On-call support as needed
· Other duties as needed
· Associate’s Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology, or related discipline, which could include Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Math. In lieu of a degree, must have at least two years of related work experience with operating system hardware and/or software and components
· 2+ years of related Technical Experience, with strong understanding of networking
· Experience with monitoring, configuring and maintaining Routers, Switches and Firewalls
· Experience with Virtual Environments and Virtual Machines
· Experience with Storage Arrays and Network Attached Storage
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Good organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously
· Good negotiation skills with the ability to find
successful resolutions for issues of basic complexity, escalating those that
require management involvement, when necessary
· Outstanding customer service skills
· Must be able to work under general supervision in a
fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities
· Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on call.
